Hard and Holy | Devotions for Parenting
Parenting is a spiritual practice. Or rather, parenting is when the spiritual practice ends and the spiritual game day begins. There are choices to make. Lessons to teach. Lives to sustain. So many parenting sins to confess. Grace to give. Grace to give again. Joy to enjoy (and then clean up after).
Hard and Holy offers 53 devotions, covering life with newborns through life with teenagers. That's one a week for a year if you're disciplined (plus a bonus week for an extra spiritual boost) … or, if you're paging through frantically wondering where God is in all this, it’s about an hour of reading.
ABOUT THE WRITERS
The Stillspeaking Writers' Group is made up of United Church of Christ ministers, pastors, and authors who collaborate on a variety of resources for people in the church, outside the church, and not so sure about the church. Their motto: "Hearing God where you live (and other surprising places)." For Hard and Holy, the Group was joined by contributors across the UCC to offer spiritual encouragement and practical solidarity from their personal experiences.
