The Shining Light is a collection of positive, original stories and lessons, with activities for clergy and lay leaders to use in preaching to children from kindergarten through upper-elementary school.
The topics follow the church program year — beginning in September and ending with Pentecost. About the Author
Randy Hammer is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and pastor of The United Church, Chapel on the Hill in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He received his D.Min. from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and his M.Div. from Memphis Theological Seminary. Hammer is the author of The Talking Stick: 40 Children’s Sermons with Activities (2007) and 52 Ways to Ignite Your Congregation…Practical Hospitality (2008), both published by The Pilgrim Press.
