Stillspeaking Bible Study
“God is still speaking” is a popular phrase in the United Church of Christ. You may be wondering: what are its origins?
It was created as a 21st century version of “God hath yet more light and truth to break forth from God's Holy Word” — a historic quotation from John Robinson, pastor to the Pilgrims who set sail from Holland in 1620. It was inspired by a wise quote from Gracie Allen: “Never place a period where God has placed a comma.”
In this brief Stillspeaking Bible Study, nine different voices interpret nine different biblical passages that urgently say one thing:
"We serve a living, loving God who is still speaking, who is not finished yet, who has more truth and light to break forth, and who is calling you and me to respond this day. Right now."
