About the Author

Vashti M. McKenzie is the first female bishop elected in the 213-year history of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. McKenzie holds a M.Div. from Howard University School of Divinity and a D.Min. from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
