This curriculum explores the issues of violence and sexuality faced by today's teenagers and the role the church should play in response to sexual abuse. Includes six, 60-minute to 90-minute sessions, each carefully designed to facilitate an honest, respectful, Christian response to the sexual abuse of young people.

The revised and updated edition addresses the experiences of date rape, stranger rape, and incestuous abuse. Rebecca Voelkel-Haugen & Marie M. Fortune also look at the cultural context in which these experiences occur, with a special emphasis on the media, especially music video television.

About the Authors

Rebecca Voelkel-Haugen is a former staff member of the Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence. She is currently a seminarian at Yale Divinity School.

Marie M. Fortune is executive director of the Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence and an ordained United Church of Christ minister.
