1 Corinthians Listen Up! Bible Study

Whether or not your congregation has experienced conflict and division, you will find the study of 1 Corinthians to be a rich reflection on what it means to be the church and how a congregation's health can be undermined from within.

The brilliance of Paul's letter is that his observations of church life are grounded theologically. Paul doesn't say, "Can't we all just get along?" His argument is a deeper one, based on what God has done in Jesus Christ.

Paul's first letter to the Corinthians touches on sub-themes of church life: morality, food and diet, spiritual gifts, and -- famously in 1 Corinthians 13 -- love.
